The Adventures of the Hugo bear

chapter 2

Hugo landed on the airport Halle/Leipzig.In the large hall he saw a little bear sitting on his suitcase. "Hello, what's your name? Are you related to me", Hugo asked." I'm your cousin Umi,come from Haldensleben and I'm the mascot of the primary school Erich Kästner", the little bear answered."I'll go home with the new ICE but in Magdeburg I still want to visit the Christmas market. Do you come along? What's your name?" "I'm Hugo, come from Finland and I'm gladly to go with you." At the Christmas market it smelled delicious of gingerbread and honey. Hugo was very hungry. At the kiosk he took himself a glass of honey and started to eat. The salesman shouted:"Thiefs, thiefs, stop the bears!" Hugo and Umi ran fast away and suddenly there stood a large man with a red coat and a white beard infront of them.Santa Claus buzzed:"Stop here!" The bears crept under a Christmas tree. Hugo was astonished:"Grow there trees with balls and candles?" "No", Umi whispered, "we decorate our trees." "Come out of the tree", Santa Claus grumbled. "Why do you steal this honey?" "We don't steal it.We only want to eat the honey." "And why don't you pay for it", asked Santa Claus. "What does it mean to pay", the bears amazed.Santa Claus had to laugh completely loud. Then he showed the bears lots of coins and notes. "Look , this is the EURO. Whith this money you can pay in twelf European countries. And now let's pay for your honey." Hugo and Umi thanked Santa Claus and went away to the station. There arrived, Umi said good by and traveled to Haldensleben. He advised him to visit Berlin and the mountain "Harz"

When Hugo arrived at Berlin he was welcomed cordially. Everything was so large and unknown. There he sat down on a bank. He noticed at one time that a large paw affected him. It was the Berlin bear.He said to Hugo: "I want to show you Berlin." At the beginning they went to the Reichstag. There the parliament was just in session but on the goverment bank there was unfortunately not Federal Chancellor Schröder because he was powerfully at governing. "What a pity",Hugo said,"I would glady give him my paw." After that they went through the Brandenburger Tor. The Berlin bear explained Hugo that this gate had much to do with the German history. They continued to go toward Alexanderplatz. They went past at the Museum island, the Berlin cathedral and the big Humbold university.Suddenly they stood under a giant-large tower. Hugo said: "What a tall asparagus there is?" The bear explained Hugo that it was the TV tower, which is higher than 300 meters. They drove fast with the elevator to the prospect platform of the tower. In the restaurant they drank cacao and ate a big Berliner(jelly doughnut). Since the platform turned, they could see a lot of Berlin. They had the impression Berlin is prostrated on one's feet. In the evening they both were so broken that they fell asleep in there hotel bets bear-tiredly.

On the next day Hugo went by railway to the the mountain Harz.At first he went to Wernigerode. The city was beautiful with lots of small and large half timbered houses.Suddenly Hugo frightened.A multicolored small witch with bent back,a giant long nose and a broom between her legs stood infront of him. The witch was called Walpurga. Since she meant it very good,Hugo was allowed to go by broomstick through the air. They flew over Wernigerode and the city looked like a toy shop. The fly on the broomstick was more interesting than the fly by plane. Short time later they landed on the highest mountain of Saxonia-Anhalt what is called Brocken. On top the wind whistled very strongly around their noses. However, the weather was clear and Hugo could have a look until Magdeburg. After so many experiences Hugo was very hungry.Walpurga went with him into the restaurant. There they ate delicious pea soup with sausage. But the experiences were not jet to end. Because Hugo saw a very large hot-air balloon. "I would like to go on a trip with that one",said Hugo and was invited to carry on his journey... in other countries...to new adventures and objects of interest. He said good by to Walpurga and thanked for the mad travel company, the many experiences and many friendly humans. With the balloon he landet in one much very small country, which is called there...Luxembourg.
